Honoring All Veterans Memorial Dedication

Memorial Day: Monday, May 27, 2:00 pm
HAVM Site (64th and Portland Ave)

The Honoring All Veterans Memorial began with a concept by Richfield artist Travis Gorshe, inspired by the first American flag raised on Iwo Jima. Ground was broken in Richfield’s Veterans Memorial Park in 2007, with Richfield resident and longest-living Iwo Jima flag-raiser, Chuck Lindberg in attendance. The centerpiece of the memorial is the flag of the United States of America, flying above a bronze bust of Cpl. Chuck Lindberg in military gear. Six pillars represent the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Merchant Marines and Navy, and 10 granite tablets bear the names of honored Veterans – with more tablets to come as engravings are sold. Thanks to the guidance, planning and fundraising of a group of dedicated volunteers, and sales of more than 700 engraved names of Veterans, The Honoring All Veterans Memorial is now a reality – a place to visit, reflect, remember, and honor the sacrifices of Veterans past, present, and future. On May 27 at 2:00 p.m., we proudly dedicate The Honoring All Veterans Memorial. Bring your lawn chair and celebrate with us! FEATURED SPEAKER: Major General Richard C. Nash, Adjutant General, Minnesota National Guard
