Animal License Application
- All animals 6 months of age and older must be licensed.
- If a resident wants three cats or three dogs, they must obtain a separate multi-pet residence license application through the City.
- The maximum number of animals residents may have is five total.
- It is illegal to have more than three dogs on one property.

Richfield animal control calls are primarily handled by Richfield Community Service Officers. If a CSO is not on duty when a call for animal control assistance comes in to our Dispatch Center a Police Officer will be dispatched as soon as possible depending on the priority of other pending calls.
For any in process animal control issue such as a dog at large, an animal bite, an injured animal, barking dogs or other animal issues that require a response dials 612-861-9898 or 911 if you are in Richfield.
For questions regarding animal ordinances, the keeping of animals, or wildlife issues you may phone 612-861-9823. Messages may be left outside of business hours at this number. CSO's work varying shifts at different times of the year but we will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.

Lost and found animal reports may be made at any time, 24 hours a day by calling Richfield Public Safety at 612-861-9898.
Most animals impounded by Richfield Public Safety will be sheltered at the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter, unless special care is required.
