Herpetology Take-home Project Due in
May
Please fill out this evaluation and send it back to me, via
e-mail or by
printing it off and returning a paper copy. I would really love to hear
your comments about everything we've done this year (positive or critical!)
so we can accommodate any requests for the next school-year's classes.
Especially since I won't be the Homeschool Coordinator next year, it would
be helpful for the new person in my position to have an idea of what you all
liked and what you'd like to see changed. One
per family is fine, as long as everyone puts in their input. (Adults
and students, please!)
Click here for the Year 5 evaluation as
a Word document.
To fill out the Word document and e-mail it to
me:
- Click on the top link. When the
prompt comes up asking if you want to open it or save it, choose save.
Save it to a folder you know how to access. If it automatically saves
it and you're not sure where, do a search for "Year 5
Eval form.doc"
and it should tell you where it's saved.
- Open the file and type in your responses.
- Save the file again.
- Send the saved file to me through an e-mail
attachment. (Which is different for each program- if you need help on
how to send an attachment, you can call or e-mail me & I can try to help.)
If you can't open word documents, feel free
to download the pdf version (called
"Year 5 Evaluation.pdf") to fill out and mail/bring in.
If you have troubles downloading the
evaluation, please e-mail me
(Leah)
or give me a call.
Extras
Websites:
http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/index.html -a great site to look
up information about any animals. Most pages have pictures and other
information about the animals, including habitat, reproduction, and more.
Books:
Amphibians & Reptiles Native to Minnesota, by Barney Oldfield and
John Moriarty. This is, hands down, my favorite MN Herp book. It
has great information about groups and specific herps, has a MN herpetofauna
checklist, and has both keys and written suggestions for herp
identification. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
