Winter Parking and Snow Plowing
Winter Parking Ordinance
While Richfield doesn't have snow emergencies, the City does have a policy for street parking after a snowfall of two or more inches.
The City prohibits parking of vehicles on City streets after a snowfall of two inches or more. Parking is prohibited until the streets have been plowed from curb to curb. Vehicles in violation of the ordinance are subject to being ticketed and towed. (Ordinance in effect from Nov. 1 - April 15)
Snow Plowing
Richfield's snowplow crews try to clear the streets as quickly as possible after a snowfall so that driving is safer and easier for everyone. The City begins snow plowing when accumulation reaches two inches. High volume "minor arterial roads" are plowed first, then neighborhood "collector" streets. The City also plows City-owned sidewalks.

Towing Information
Has your car been towed? If so, contact the towing company listed below:

Placement of Trash Cans and Recycling Materials
It is illegal to place your trash cart or recycle materials in the street, alley or on the sidewalk. The carts interfere with plowing, sweeping and other maintenance and they are a hazard to pedestrians and traffic. Please keep your trash carts behind the curb and off the sidewalk. Your cooperation is appreciated.
