January - April
Richfield Remodeling Fair, Mid to late January Richfield High School, 7001 Harriet Avenue Over 80 exhibitors, free admission, food and entertainment, seminars, demonstrations, and more! Information: Contact Ruthie at 612-812-3701
Annual Ice Skating Show, Mid to late April This annual event, held at the Ice Arena, features Richfield Skating School participants and guest skaters. Information: 612-861-9350.
Adopt-a-Park Clean Up, Late April Richfield’s Adopt-A-Park groups clean up their respective parks at least twice a year. One of those clean ups is usually the week of Earth Day (in late April). The other clean ups are done at the groups’ convenience. Any group or business can adopt a park! Information: 612-861-9395.
Friends of Wood Lake Dinner & Silent Auction, Late April/Early May Location varies. This yearly fundraising event is a great time to support Wood Lake Nature while enjoying an evening filled with food, entertainment, and a silent auction. Information: 612-861-9365 or www.woodlakenaturecenter.org.

May- June
Farmers Market, May through October During the season, the Market is held every Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon. The Market is located at the Veterans Memorial Park shelter at 64th Street and Portland Avenue. Information: 612-861-9385 or www.richfieldfarmersmarket.org
City-Wide Garage Sale, Mid to late May Register your yard sale, which includes a yard sign, group advertising in metro-wide publications, radio announcements and a copy of the garage sale list. Shoppers may purchase the garage sale list for $2 at the Community Center, 7000 Nicollet Avenue or City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue. Information: 612-861-9395.
1919 Root Beer Kegs, May to June Every spring, Richfield Liquor Stores sell 1919 Root Beer kegs. Perfect for graduations and other parties. Don't forget the ice cream -- root beer floats make an easy dessert for those large groups. Information: 612-861-9370 or visit www.richfieldliquors.com
Richfield Beautiful Home & Garden Tour, Late June Richfield Beautiful is a self-guided tour of homes and gardens throughout the City. Tour "passports" are required to visit the participating homes and are sold at various City sites. Information: 612-861-9700 or click here.
Concerts in the Park, June through August Bring your lawn chair, friends and neighbors. Enjoy the music, the weather and the scenery various Thursday evenings (7-8:30 p.m.) throughout the summer at Augsburg Park (70th & Nicollet). Information: 612-861-9385
Police & Fire Safety Day for 4th Graders, Early to mid June (on a Tuesday) One fun-filled summer day. Richfield children learn personal safety, bike safety, money safety, water safety, animal awareness, fire and burn prevention, and more. Limited enrollment so register early. July - August

Night to Unite (formerly National Night Out), First Tuesday in August Minnesota's Night to Unite is an event designed to gather neighbors and communities together. Many neighborhoods organize block parties. For more information, call Richfield Crime Prevention at 612-861-9800.
Annual Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K Race, First Saturday in August Race starts and finishes at Veterans Park (66th and Portland). This event draws more than 1,200 participants and is a fundraiser for Wood Lake Nature Center. Information: 612-861-9365 or visit www.urbanwildland.com
September - November
Citizen's Police Academy, Thursday nights Sept. - Oct. Participants get a working knowledge of the operations and responsibilities of a police officer. Must be at least 18 and either work or live in Richfield. Information: 612-861-9800

Wine Tasting and Silent Auction, late September / early October Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Richfield in conjunction with Richfield Liquors and the Richfield Historical Society to help support service projects in the community. Fire Prevention Week Open House, early October Richfield Fire Services hosts an Open House every year as part of National Fire Prevention Week. The Open House is usually held on a Saturday in early October. Visit Station #1, meet with firefighters, and check out the department's equipment. For more info, call 612-243-4500

Annual Skating Party, Dec. 31 New Year's Eve, 4-6 p.m. at the Richfield Ice Arena, 636 East 66th Street Enjoy skating on two rinks and complementary refreshments. Information: 612-861-9350.
Candlelight & Ice New Year's Eve Event, Dec. 31 Follow candlelit trails that wind their way through the cattail islands and forests of Wood Lake.
